To measure track usage we use our in-house developed monitoring system. This receives the radio programmes, analyses the transmitter signal with the help of audio recognition and stores the results in a database for subsequent assessment.

Our Airplay data are based on an analysis of the actually transmitted audio signal. So the usage measured by us always coincides with the radio programme. We neither use any transmission lists nor the station playlists which are available online as we know that these are not always accurate.

We receive radio stations in a variety of ways, for example via FM, satellite, DAB or also via the Internet stream made available online by the radio station. Wherever possible we count on different methods of reception so that we can continue to collect the Airplay data in spite of a signal failure. Also, all important parts of the Monitoring System are kept redundantly. Therefore, we can always ensure excellent availability.
